Scope and acceptance
Kotse Car Loan Calculator, referred to as Kotse, is a general-purpose vehicle financing estimation tool. These Terms apply to the website, installable application, offline features, calculation engine, scenario tools, amortization schedules, and exports made available through Kotse.
In these Terms, the operator means the person or entity that publishes the particular Kotse deployment you are using. References to Kotse also include the application owner, developer, contributors, distributors, and licensors where the context requires.
You may use Kotse only if you have legal capacity to accept these Terms. If you use Kotse for a business or another person, you confirm that you have authority to act for them and that they also accept these Terms.
Informational service only
Kotse provides estimates and comparison tools for informational and educational purposes only. Kotse does not provide financial, lending, credit, legal, tax, accounting, insurance, investment, dealership, or other professional advice.
Kotse is not a bank, lender, credit broker, financial adviser, insurer, dealership, credit bureau, or government authority. Using Kotse does not create an adviser-client, lender-borrower, fiduciary, agency, or other professional relationship. Kotse does not submit applications, obtain credit reports, assess creditworthiness, approve financing, negotiate with providers, or make decisions that produce legal or financial effects for you.
Calculations, estimates, and exports
Results depend entirely on the values and assumptions supplied by you. A mathematically correct calculation can still differ from a lender quotation because a provider may use different compounding periods, day-count conventions, payment dates, rounding methods, fee treatments, insurance pricing, taxes, rebates, settlement rules, eligibility criteria, or regulatory disclosures.
A flat annual rate is not the same as APR, effective annual rate, or a reducing-balance rate. Kotse does not silently convert a flat rate into APR. Any effective rate shown is limited to the stated model and must not be treated as a provider's legally required APR or equivalent disclosure.
PDF, PNG, JPEG, and print-ready reports reproduce application-generated estimates. An export is not a quotation, offer, approval, commitment, contract, account statement, or evidence that a lender will provide financing on the displayed terms. Branding and professional presentation do not change the informational status of an export.
- Check every input, formula assumption, currency, rate, fee, term, and repayment amount before relying on a result.
- Obtain and review the provider's current written quotation, disclosure documents, and final contract.
- Ask an appropriately qualified professional about legal, tax, accounting, or financial consequences that apply to you.
Acceptable use
You may use Kotse for lawful personal or business estimation and comparison, including an authorized customer consultation. You must not misuse the application or interfere with other users, the service, or its security.
- Do not use Kotse for fraud, deception, unlawful discrimination, unauthorized credit decisions, or any activity that violates applicable law or another person's rights.
- Do not represent a Kotse estimate or export as an official lender quotation, approval, regulated disclosure, or guaranteed financing offer.
- Do not introduce malicious code, probe for vulnerabilities without written authorization, bypass access or security controls, overload infrastructure, or disrupt service availability.
- Do not scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute protected application elements except as permitted by applicable law or an applicable open-source license.
- Do not remove or obscure attribution, proprietary notices, calculation warnings, or disclaimers from exports when doing so could mislead another person.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and lawfulness of information you enter, for securing your device and exported files, and for deciding whether Kotse is suitable for your purpose. Do not enter another person's confidential or personal information unless you are authorized to do so.
Saved scenarios are stored in your browser. Anyone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to view them. You are responsible for deleting local records and shared exports when they are no longer needed and for using appropriate device, file, and transmission security.
Intellectual property and permitted license
Kotse is an open source initiative. The application source code is licensed under the MIT License, subject to its included copyright and permission notice. Project documentation and original informational content specifically identified by the project are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, also known as CC BY 4.0.
CC BY 4.0 reuse requires appropriate credit, a link to the license, and an indication of whether changes were made. The MIT and CC BY 4.0 licenses apply only to the materials within their stated scopes. Third-party software, fonts, icons, names, and other materials remain governed by their respective licenses and notices.
Subject to these Terms, the operator grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the application for its intended purpose. You may download, print, and share your own calculation exports, provided you do not use them deceptively or imply endorsement, approval, or authorship by a financial institution.
The open source and content licenses do not grant permission to use the Kotse name, logo, or trade dress as the identity of another product or service unless expressly stated in writing. They also do not remove calculation warnings, export disclaimers, privacy obligations, or third-party rights.
Third-party services and content
A deployment may rely on hosting, content delivery, browser, operating system, app store, or security providers. Links or references to banks, dealerships, regulators, or other third parties are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement or control.
Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Kotse is not responsible for their availability, decisions, quotations, content, security, or conduct. Review their terms before providing information or entering a transaction.
Availability, updates, and termination
Kotse may be updated, corrected, suspended, limited, or discontinued at any time. Offline availability depends on browser support, installed assets, cache state, device storage, and prior successful loading. No uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available service is promised.
The operator may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, investigate abuse, or address security and operational risks. Features, supported currencies, formulas, and output formats may change. Review the version and assumptions shown in the application and any export.
Warranty disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kotse is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. No express or implied warranty is made regarding merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, security, availability, or results.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kotse and its operator, owner, developer, contributors, distributors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity, savings, data, goodwill, financing, or use, arising from or connected with the application or any result, export, interruption, or third-party service.
Kotse is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate inputs, omitted costs, changes in lender terms, reliance on estimates, unauthorized device access, user-modified exports, or a provider's lending or contractual decision. Nothing limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited.
Applicable law and disputes
Applicable law and the available courts or dispute processes can depend on the operator's place of establishment, the deployment channel, your location, and mandatory consumer or data-protection rules. These Terms do not displace rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Before starting formal proceedings, you and the operator should attempt in good faith to resolve the issue through the support or legal contact published for the deployment. Nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent relief or using a regulator, court, or complaint process available under applicable law.
Policy revisions and contact
The operator may revise these Terms to reflect product, legal, security, or operational changes. The version and Last Updated date identify the current text. Material changes should be presented through the application or deployment channel before or when they take effect, where reasonably practicable or legally required.
For legal or support questions, use the operator contact published by the website host, app store listing, organization, or distribution channel through which you received Kotse. This application release does not include an account system or an in-app support submission form.
